In this chapter Loung's father was finally discovered and was killed for his position in the government's position! The soldiers told the family a lie that they were only taking him for some extra work, but everyone knows Loung's father is being executed. Now the family has to regroup and figure a way to live without Pa in the family. It was a hard transition.

Keav DIES!! In this chapter after six months when Keav left the village to join a children labor camp, a little girl came with a message to Loung's parents that Keav was really sick and was on the verge of death. Loung's parents attempted to get to Keav on time but when they arrived, she has already passed. Loung was devastated that her big sister who she looked up to has died.
